Default Fish - Fellini Days (2001) Retail CD

Music > Albums > Fish - Fellini Days (2001) Retail CD
added on April 15, 2007, at 22:12 by allcdcovers

On writing this review i have listened to the album 5 or 6 times. The problem with Fish is that he co writes all his songs(he writes the lyrics)so he depends on whoever he is composing with to produce a good album.Another thing is that he doesn't seem to have a permanent lineup which means he cannot develop a style of music(i.e when he composes with a hard rock musician he sounds one way the next album he contributes with a main stream musician he sounds another way). This album has not got any songs which stand out but as a collection of songs it is quite good. There are not in my opinion any bad songs as such but one or two of them sound a little bit dull. The sound of this album is quite mainstream and fish's singing is not as good as when he is singing forcefull progresive rock. The musicians he has surrounded himself with this time are not bad but they can't compare themselves to Porcupines Tree's Steve Wilson and it is a little bit disapointing that he is not playing on this album. If you are a Fish fan i advise you to buy this album but if this is the first album you are going to purchase of Fish i suggest you try Raingods with Zippos or Vigil in a wilderness of mirrors
