Default Corrosion Of Conformity - Live Volume (2001) Retail CD

Taken from the band's show in Detroit in 2001, Live Volume offers a good clean sound that neatly represents COC's hard-core power. Despite the brilliant Reed Mullin being replaced by Eyehategod's Jimmy Bower on the drum stool, the sheer quality of the band as a live unit is evident here, displaying the hard riffing that has become the band's trademark. All the recent hits are here, with favourites "Albatross", "Clean My Wounds", "Wiseblood" and "King of the Rotten" all finding their place and the latest release, "America's Volume Dealer", is well represented with the likes of "Congratulations Song", "13 Angels" and "Who Got The Fire". The one true failing is the lack of material pre-Deliverance era; the only tracks being "These Shrouded Temples" and the still-relevant "Vote With A Bullet", both from 1991's "Blind" album. Having said that, there's no arguing that their more recent output is their best and this live release covers it well.
