The Babylon Whores were formed in Helsinki, Finland in 1994, but it wasn't until 1999's King Fear that they finally got an album out in the U.S. It's regrettable that it took so long, for you're unlikely to find a more compelling fusion of alternative metal and goth rock than this CD. There are echoes of Bauhaus on dark, sinister gems like "Veritas," "Radio Werewolf" and "King Fear: Song for the Damned," but echoes are all they are. While the sinister imagery that the Whores employ brings Bauhaus to mind, the Whores are much more metallic and forceful. The moody Bauhaus was never a metal bandmore…
