Description
After releasing four solo albums in one year, Stephen Jones--otherwise known as Babybird--was feted by the British music press as a surrealist bedroom poet without compare. While Babybird's early work was often absurdly lo-fi, recorded on a four-track with a Casio organ and a drum machine, Ugly Beautiful saw Jones emerge from the bedroom with a five piece band to reinterpret his spartan visions of gender-swapping, sexual deviancy and just occasionally, the simplest love songs.
