The follow up to Camel's debut album builds substantially on what that fine effort achieved. 'Mirage' boasts a sharper, more forceful production. Though their music has never been heavy, this is pretty powerful stuff. 'Freefall' and 'Supertwister' establish this approach, and there's some lovely flute playing on the latter, but these tracks are eclipsed by what follows. 'Nimrodel, etc,' is a stagey, twisting piece of craftsmanship which climaxes in the brilliant, intense 'The White Rider.'
