Description

Based on the bestseller of the acclaimed Uruguayan writer Mario Benedetti, "La Tregua" (The Truce) describes a brief but very beautiful love story. Martin Santome, close to retiring widower father of three, starts to write an intimate diary about his gray and flat life. His everyday office life, added to his non-tight home relationship, will find itself altered when young Laura Avellaneda (played by sexy Adriana Fonseca) enters his plane existence. This 24 year-old young woman gives all her affection and tenderness to this fearful and picky man who also finds love. Middle aged Martin, an averagemore… man that learns not to be toppled by bureaucratic walls, aware of his limitations and his lack of desire, decides to open up a parenthesis to let the light of love in, and lets himself be taken by Laura… even if it is just for a short while. Nominated in 2004 at the Mexican Film Academy.
