It can be somewhat disconcerting to witness Jeff Healey encouraging his guitar to cry because, quite frankly, he plays it all wrong. Rather than dangling it from his shoulder and jabbing it from his crotch in the accepted phallic fashion, he rests it across his lap and taps out blues figures to make your heart bleed. While reasonably akin to witnessing a negligent artiste endeavouring to blow into a cello, you have to admit that the resultant sonic confection is rarely short of awe-inspiring. Which is nice.
