Description
Many people, including myself, are wary of cover versions of hit songs. This double album has 30 of them and most of them work. Anne's unique voice and style always brings a freshness to any song, add some lush orchestrations, a chorus and Country Croonin' is born.She does not make the mistake of trying to copy any of the originals so the words of each song are familiar but the arrangement brings something new. A few tracks end up as sing alongs that I found attractive but could annoy a dedicated country fan (as could the saxophone and clarinet solos).An excellent album that has already becomemore…
