Description
The Yankee Zephyr, a US Navy DC-3 cargo plane, has been missing since Christmas 1944 when it dropped off the radar during a flight between New Guinea and New Zealand. On board was a consignment of war medals. Christmas mail for the troops and the entire payroll for the American South Pacific fleet - an estimated fifty million dollars.
Forty years later Barney Whittaker (Ken Wahl) and Gibbie Gibson (Donald Pleasence) earn their living the hard way hunting deer by helicopter on the upper slopes of New Zealand's Southern Alps. When they stumble upon an old aircraft wreck - the remains of the Yankeemore…
