Boz Scaggs - But Beautiful: Standards Vol.1 (2004) Retail CD
Description
This album has had a lot of criticism. I guess it's because the work is a departure from Skaggs previous work. However, Skaggs has always specialized in the lounge lizard type genre, and this CD fits into that slot comfortably. I would buy it for the saxophone solos alone, however Skaggs rather eccentric voice suite the old jazz standards perfectly. To me it is reminiscent of Carmen Mc Rae playing the Great American Song Music Hall. All I can say is, if this is a walk through....it's easy when you know how.
