The opening "Adorations" is a microcosm for the entire album.The authority of the Joke's classic rhythm section cannot be denied.Over this we hear the great guitar pioneer Geordie Walker,who moves from devastating riffs to chords of breathtaking beauty,effotlessly.Jaz's vocal style here is perhaps the most conventional of all,but he finds terrific melodies and lyrically this is pure art.The title "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" refers to Sanskrit accounts of of vast nuclear exlosion in pre-history.Every song here is a classic,but particular mention should be made of the haunting "Love of the Masses" and the epic "Rubicon" that closes the vinyl version of this astonishing album.If you own but one CD,make it this one.It will change your life.To this day I have never heard anything better.
