A fine album 100% good from start to finish. Consistent quality songs, featuring fine comprehensible lyrics, delivered with their usual enthusiastic manner, Jimi Jaimson only gets better in his singing, showing a little more subtly in his maturing years. The Ballad "One more chance" sets a new standard of excellence, you'll put this one on repeat!. "Fire makes steel" which was to be the album title when Dave was with them a few years ago takes us back to the style of the "Caught in the game" album. The title track "Reach" is that stadium rocking chant along feel good track we expect from Survivormore…, as is "Talkin about love" which I think has F.S. on vocals as its not Jimi for sure. It gives the album some extra interest. The album eatures a fair bit of acoustic guitar work, something quite rare with Survivor.
Every song is a winner, reminds me of "When seconds count", the sort of album I never tire of with a gorgeous presentation.
I remember in the 80's being knocked out by Vital Signs and When seconds count, but this tops both :)
One for my desert island discs collection.
