Front 242's 1993 album 06:21:03:11 Up Evil (the numbers corrispond to letters of the alphabet kiddies) was a bit of a controversial departure for the Belgian electro godfathers. They had already complicated their minimalism years before, with this album they brought in a few new songwriters and a LOT of guitar and embraced rock. The songs are that bit harsher, that bit quicker, the lyrics that BIT more pretetious... but at the time, for me, it sounded fresh... well it wasn't fresh.
