Though I did my best to avoid it, when I learnt that the new Moonspell album was to be based around the stories of HP Lovecraft I did feel a thrill of anticipation - or should that have been a tentacle of dread?Moonspell have always had that sense of impending doom. Opening song In And Above Men does disappoint. Singer Fernando growls unpleasantly over a heavy metal track. Luckily the brooding version returns for From Lowering Skies. Then when all hell breaks loose again, it seems much more effective. From then on it's smooth sailing. Title track Antidote has an ominous atmosphere and superb dynamicsmore…
