Description
It is really a mystery to me why Bmg-Ariola released this album. Of course, if you like dance music and if you worship Amanda Lear, you'll buy this Cd too. Basically it's a compilation of different things: new recordings of old songs (such as "Queen of Chinatown", "Follow Me" or "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"), remixes of old hits (such as "Blood and Honey" or "Tomorrow"), or original recordings of her successes from the Seventies ("Never Trust a Pretty Face" or "Lili Marleen"). Then, for those who may have missed them, there are a couple of tracks from her previous - and marvellousmore… - Cd, "Alter Ego" (an alternative version of "Alter Ego", a re-working of "Muscle Man" and a shorter version of "I'll Miss You). But the Cd lacks unity... The second mystery is: why the Italian Cd "Back In Your Arms" was released only in Italy? That one contains only re-recordings of old hits (more than in the Bmg release), plus an absolute inedit "Just a Gigolo" and - of course - four songs from "Alter Ego", which was an enormous flop in Italy (also due to a very bad distribution). All the same, if you are young and you don't know Ms. Amanda Lear (shame on you! ), then you can start with this Cd to get an idea. Also because it has a wonderful booklet with many photos portraying Our Lady of Rémy-de-Provence in all her splendour. Amanda, we'd do anything for you: even buy this kind of records... But please, get Bmg-Ariola to release your first six albums on Cd! It is really a mystery to me why Bmg-Ariola released this album.
