Coolooloosh was formed two years ago (beginning of 2003) by a group of five Jerusalem based musicians with a common goal to create new original music, record, perform, and touch people in Israel and abroad with their music. Influences include Funk, Hip Hop, Acid Jazz, Jungle, Soul, amongst others. The band performs regularly around Israel and has performed recently at the International Film festival in Jerusalem, The name Coolooloosh is taken from the local Jerusalem slang and is used by kids to describe throwing confetti or anything else for that matter high up in the air, expressing happinessmore… and play. it represents the band's atmosphere as well as the city of Jerusalem in which the members live and create.Since the joining of Baltimore born Rapper Rebel Sun in the spring of 2004 , Hip hop became part of the band's repertoire, making everything piece together beautifully with deep original lyrics, rarely heard from rappers, on top of the band's live track playing.
