Description

Journeyman AOR/hard rock singer Danny Vaughn, veteran of a number of minor hair metal bands, makes a late-career transition on Traveller to a sort of country-on-steroids. Perhaps Traveller is an attempt to pre-empt Bon Jovi's entry into the country market, due a few months later. Songs like "That's What She Says" and "Miracle Days" show how narrow the line is between crowd-pleasing hard rock and crowd-pleasing country: on Traveller, the only real difference is less overt sex, and more overt twang. The resulting tunes are almost over-eager in their desire to be sung along to by a hockey stadiummore…-sized crowd, complete with homemade signs painted onto bedsheets and at least one or two sweet young thangs flashing the stage from on top of their biker boyfriends' shoulders. However, Traveller isn't going to be of much interest to anyone unlikely to find themselves in the midst of that sort of gig.
