I admit that I never heard of Colbie Caillat until last week, when I noticed that her debut album had entered Billboard's Top 200 chart at Number 5. Then I decided to check out this new singer-songwriter from California. I am pleased to report that I came away from the experience suitably impressed! Colbie's music has a laid-back, almost tropical feel that actually sounds a bit Hawaiian at times. Perhaps the reviewer at the allmusic.com web site put it best: "a lighter, brighter spin on Norah Jones that sounds like an ideal soundtrack to a few hours in a cozy coffeehouse..."" And I would expectmore…
