I first heard of Maroon 5 as soon as I found out they were supporting Matchbox Twenty, in the summer of 2003. Having heard of them I instantly downloaded a song off their website called Tangled. I liked it but didn't think much of it. However, having seen them at Matchbox Twenty, I knew this was a band to watch out for. They were by far (Yes, beating The Darkness) as the tightest band I've ever seen live, and upon seeing them a second time a couple of weeks later at Manchester Academy 3 (with only 50 other people!!!) they performed amazingly with a stunning cover of Nine Inch Nails's Closer.
