Description
I have all of M Ward's albums, and I have to say that whilst this isn't quite as breathtakingly brilliant as 'Transfiguration of Vincent', it is still a work of genius. It is a little unfair to compare this with his other albums, as this is the first one with a full backing band. It therefore doesn't have the stripped bare feel of his previous efforts, but instead it brings new depth and warmth to his songs.
For those of you that haven't heard M Ward's songs before, he's a singer with the most amazingly soulful voice. His songs are pure Deep South blues
with jangly pianos, blues guitar, and mournfulmore…
