This sublime 1972 studio pairing launched an ongoing dialogue between vibraphonist Gary Burton and pianist Chick Corea that has yielded musical reunions every few years. It's not hard to imagine, after exposure to this luminous, lyrical classic that helped define the chamber-jazz aesthetic, what German producer Manfred Eicher was aspiring to in all his ECM label releases.
