I managed to get a sneaky peak of this from a friend! Wooo! One of this years Dance summer albums has to be this.

Its "Daft Punk - Discovery" time and a whole load of dirty great umph gone into it.
The album is full of dirty beat lines, pounding slap bass and fantastic electronica thrown in!

The album opens up with a track called Genesis. It starts off with a powerful horn section then "THWACK!" straight into "Nod Your Head" and "Body poppers dream" music of dirty beats and bass - lovely.
Track 2 "Let there be light" is a love or hate track. It has an ear peircing melodic screach with a heavymore… Electronic Rock beat going over the top and ends with a nice melodic flowing Syth type music - very Daft Punk sounding.
Track 3 is "D.A.N.C.E." - we all know how it goes, great radio track "Just as ea-sy as ABC, Do do Dance, The way you move is a mystery, Do Do Dance. WAM!" brilliant!
Track 4 is "New Jack" which is currently my favourite on the album and full of yummy beats yet again. An voice sample is played throughout the song repeated, unknown what he/she/it says but its brilliant! Complicated beats and definately a driving tune!
Track 5 is "Phantom pt I" full on bass and beat. Nothing much goes on in this track BUT it leads into..
...Track 6 "Phantom pt II" - which has a brilliant brilliant cathchy melody line 8 bars long that is literally repeated throughout the song. Sounds boring? well no, doesn't get boring at all. They are clever and play with their samples fading melody out, treble, mids etc
Track 7 "Valentine" - Pretty much forgettable. Kind of a filler track to separate the first part of the album to the second.
Track 8 "The Party" is a female talking about getting ready for a party and talks over the music, then the melody kits it and its very uplifting. Not my favourite but ok.
Track 9 "DVNO" This time its a bloke singing over a track. The music here is just YUM! Great driving bass and Rhythm section. This could be a single release but probably not
Now the album takes a turn
Track 10 "Stress" literally is what the title is, it makes you want to skip to the next track. Very noisy and it gets me annoyed - sorry!
Track 11 "Waters Of Nazareth" again, noisy and not too pleasing to the ears
Track 12 "One Minute To Midnight" and again, not too good.

Overall I LOVE this album the first part of the album is great and only the tracks at the end let it down a little. If you like Daft Punk when they knew what they were doing (unlike Human After all, what were they thinking?!?), you will love this!
