Blood, Sweat and Tears very successfully explored a niche between jazz and rock and produced some memorable music in the process. They had huge hits with You’ve Made Me So Very Happy, Go Down Gamblin’, And When I Die, Spinning Wheel and Lucretia Mac Evil. But my favourite on this collection is the gentle soulful ballad Sometimes In Winter, a song that perfectly captures a mood of loneliness and regret that I believe is universal.
