Heavens to Betsy, where to start... There really are so many good things about this album that it's really hard to know how to begin. I suppose the fact that it has been released is the 1st thing, and that it contains the first new Heart material for far too long is as good a place as any. What with Ann's health problems, and Nancy's burgeoning career scoring movies, I guess we shouldn't be too hard on the girls.The album is a great mix of old faves - Mistral Wind, Straight on, Crazy on you, love Alive etc; Chart smashes - Alone; Unusual covers - Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters (Elton John originallymore…), and Zeppelin's Battle of Evermore (stunning version!), together with new tracks from a forthcoming album (we should be so lucky), the pick of which for me, were Two Faces of Eve and Sister Wild Rose. I did read one US review of this, where someone said Ann's voice wasn't what it was and that she struggled with the high notes - They must have been listening to something else because all the big ones are here, present & correct. They did choose to record the last night of a tour, so she did sound a bit hoarser than usual, but what the heck, it sounded pretty darned sexy to me...Live albums can be big let downs, but this isn't one of them! Buy it now and tell your friends to do the same, that way we might even get a tour to the UK. How about it girls...??
