Mesopotamia was always one of my favourite B52s albums, even though it was more of an EP than an album. But to release it as a CD with no extras or added material is criminally lazy and quite insulting. The total running time of this CD doesn't even make half an hour. As if this wasn't bad enough it seems as though the album has been remixed and altered to make it even SHORTER than the original vinyl...most noticeably on "Loveland" and "Cake", which have been the hardest hit. What a disgusting way to release this material for B52s fans. There is an import available which teams this album withmore… the similarly short "Party Mix" EP, which makes better monetary sense, although sadly that double pack features the same remixed songs from Mesopotamia as this CD. Don't throw that vinyl away, and certainly don't buy this. If you do want it, at least get your money's worth with the double version, also available on Amazon, but don't get this, despite the "budget" price tag, it's not worth a penny.
