In the 1980's Neil Young experimented with different stlyes: Computer music (Trans), Country (Old Ways), Elctronic Pop (Landing On Water) and even returned with Rock (Life), however, This Notes For You, a blues tinted "power-swing" styled album must be ranked as the most successful experiment. The lyrics are strong, Coupe De Ville and This Notes For You are stand-out tracks. This Notes For You even won an MTV music-video award. The style might not be for everyone and at times it may be a little monotonous, however, for a dedicated Neil fan, this is a must-have.
