A lot of critics say that it isn't a good album and that it will just have you wanting more ABBA songs. They say to pick up the ABBA Gold CD instead, which is a collection of original ABBA hits. Actually, the A*Teens aren't a tribute band. They have modernized these songs and took out some lyrics in some songs, so they aren't really remaking them, but rather they are making them unique for the new generation. Well, this is my review of The ABBA Generation. It is a great CD!! You'll love the beautiful voices of Sara and Marie. It is one was those albums that you can listen to without skipping anymore… tracks. It starts off with some upbeat-songs such as Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, and Super Trouper. Mamma Mia is about an on-again, off-again relationship and a person you know you can't say goodbye to. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! is about wanting company and protection in the lonely night. Super Trouper is about success and how it doesn't get you everything because there are important people that you need. Then it goes into One Of Us, a nice mid-tempo song. It's about how someone in the relationship was childish and that's what led to the break-up and the childish person changed and wants the other person back. Then you can get in the dance mood with the thunder-clad beats of Voulez-Vous, which is about a one-night-stand of dancing. Then the groovy S.O.S will keep you listening. The rhythm of S.O.S is nice and it's about how you always had something to look forward to a relationship and suddenly it's gone. Then it slows down a little with the classic tune, Dancing Queen, which is about the love of dancing. Next, Take A Chance On Me will make you bop your head with it's super-fast beats and lyrics. It's about begging someone to take a chance on you. Then it gets a little techno with my favorite, Lay All Your Love On Me about a relationship where you want your partner all to yourself. The last two songs are sort of serious. The Name Of The Game is a nice ballad, but you can still dance to it.It's about falling in love with a person after just a couple of dates, but being afraid to tell that person how you feel because they might think that it's too soon. It's a really good song. Last, the album finishes off with the ballad Our Last Summer, a song about life and love and being afraid to go a step futher in a relationship. It's kind of like from an old person's point of view looking back on the days of carefree love.This is my review of The ABBA Generation. If you don't have the album, I strongly recommend it for you!
