Thomas Dolby's 1988 take on (almost) all things American is a good example of the best and worst that Thomas can produce. Able to capture a mood with a carefully crafted song like Budapest By Blimp, yet able to bore and irritate with limp songs like May The Cube Be With You and Hot Sauce. He can write witty lyrics, and when linked to great tunes, is one of the best keyboard singer songwriters. The Key To Her Ferrari is nastily funny, a good take on the obsession of ownership. The Ability To Swing certain swings, and My Brain Is Like A Sieve is as funny as its title, and ever so subtlymore…
