Following the success of Clint Black and Garth Brooks, a lot of new young singers were given a chance to make their name in country music. Although John is not actually my favorite among them, he is certainly one of the best.This is a stunning hits collection, including two songs that became more famous via cover versions (I swear and I can love you like that).Another excellent song is I love the way you love me, written partly by the brilliant singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw, who recorded three outstanding albums of her own, all unfairly overlooked by American country radio.Actually, all themore… songs are excellent. John demonstrates his ability to sing songs brilliantly in a variety of tempos and moods, but particularly love songs. This is a great collection of 1990's country which should appeal to traditional country fans who can accept a little modernisation.
