Stabbing Westward's more recent albums differ somewhat in style from this one. The reason for this is simple. Christopher Hall does not play the guitar in this album as he does for the others, he plays the keyboard. The result is a very techno/industrial/rock/metal/gothic/why the hell am I doing so many forward slashes/avantegarde/undefined new age something. Perhaps. It may however be a hard rock band with great vocals and a beatufully refreshing sound. That was more like it, apart from the hard rock. That was complete rubbish. As you can see, Stabbing Westward is a band that can be interpretedmore… in many different ways, much like a rabbit holding a balloon. On the one hand your quite sure of what it is, but on the other, you have bugger all idea. Many fans of Stabbing Westward that have heard the later stuff, perhaps even the very latest tracks like So Far Away and Television, would do well to buy this. You will be pleasently suprised. The latest albums, like Darkest Days and Stabbing Westward are absolute dribble when stood next to this. This is the music a robotic cactus would wish to dance to. The best songs on this album are ACF, Lies, Ungod, Violent Mood Swings and Can't Happen Here.
