In the UK at least, Sean Paul is being touted a more authentic alternative to Shaggy, delivering an accessible dance-hall crossover for the masses. His second album Dutty Rock opens with a light-hearted skit to break the ice but falls flat lacking the comic self-parody of Shaggy which is probably a good thing. Once Paul announces "This is the real dutty rock" any notion of being the new clown prince of reggae disappears and you are left with the brooding two-step of "Shout (Street Respect)" followed closely by the standout "Gimme The Light". Of the whopping 22 tracks on here there is a broad rangemore…
