Not having been around for the original realeases of this track (of which there have been many incl. Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Sammy Davies jr and not forgetting The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - EH?) I found the "Big Band Sound" very appealing. Methods improving the quality of sound employed these days do much more justice to this genre of music and Robbie's Mr Bojangles is a good example.Despite being a fan, I'm not entirely sure that Rob's voice carries jazz/blues music well, but then its never been about the voice; his charisma more than makes up for the odd bum note.
