Description
This was the first Death Metal album I got into, and I still regard it as one of the finest out there. The track which grabbed my attention was Disturbance in the Great Slumber - a dark, brooding electronic piece sitting in amongst the raging brutality of the rest of the album, which signified for me the intelligence and open-mindedness of this group in their approach to the metal genre, so often populated by the complete opposite. After listening a few times to the whole album I came to the belief that the best Death Metal is most similar to Classical music (heresy I here some say!) in structuremore…
