Description
I really like the original of this album, released in 1970. What surprised me is how much difference the 'digital remastering' / remixing can actually make. For me this new version is quite different. You can hear a LOT more of the instruments, and the stereo field is MUCH better. BUT: they have ironed out some of the creases in KK's voice and, it seems, set the vocal back in the mix by a long way. For me this is really bad news as the cracks and expression in his voice are the one thing that really made this music. To me it sounds more like 'other country singers', maybe less imperfectmore…
