Description
This album was bought for me by someone who mistook it for a collection of traditional Aussie songs in the Rolf Harris mode - how wrong they were. The title, Anthems, is very appropriate: every song is either a celebration of some aspect of Australia, or a rallying call to its defence. Some are traditional - True Blue and Waltzing Matilda, obviously, and Advance Australia Fair - but most are his own or collaborative efforts with other artistes. It's worth buying for "Raining on the Rock" alone, and the only fault I can find is that he's stuck the national anthem in the middle - it belongs at themore…
