While some might think the jesus lizard sold out by going to a major label instead of sticking with Touch and Go, Shot should blow even the more cynical away. Quite simply is an excellent album, the jesus lizard have always progressed as a band, and this is the album which shows them at their top dollar best. From the apocalyptic opening track, blue shot and thumbscrews - it's hard to believe the same intensity and quality can be maintained, but i'd be hard pushed to single out a track that doesn't work.
