I bought this CD for Richter's playing, and I get endless delight and joy from this recording, as the piano part is not mere accompaniment to cello ( recording engineer has done excellent job to balance both instruments ). Noble beauty, grace, tonal delicacy and mature artistry in this finest music partnership is something very special. Remastering added extra body and sheen to sound of both cello and piano without losing warmth of cello sound. Highly recommendable along side the youthful and refreshing Barenboim / Du Pre version.
