After hearing the lovely track "Fantino" on the soundtrack for Lost in Translation I searched out anything I could find by Sebastien Tellier, and got this album on import from France late last year (it cost me a lot more than £9.99 by the way).It is a stunning CD of almost indescribable cinematic and uplifting music, featuring contributions from artists as diverse as Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), Quentin Dupieux (aka Mr Oizo) and the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.The track "La Ritournelle" was easily my favourite song of last year, and definitely a top 5 of all time for me. I read a description somewheremore… which called it "Unfinished Sympathy Part 2" - and believe me this is not exaggerated praise. When Sebastien sings the words "Love is to share, mine is for you", over the most beautiful and heartbreaking string and drum arrangement you'll ever hear, I nearly weep everytime. Absolute genius I think - every discerning music lover should own a copy of this album. Five Stars!!
