Description

Earth Girl Arjuna, or Chikyuu Shojo Arjuna, is the story of a girl, Juna Ariyoshi, who dies one day in a car accident. Obviously, there wouldn't been thirteen episodes about the car crash. She is offered another chance to live by Chris, a telepath participating in a government project. He offers Juna the chance to live again, as long as she promises to fight the Raja. The whole series is beautifully animated, and contains a storyline horiffically close to real life. The Raja are depicted as evil things that ruin the earth, and yet are, quite surprisingly, nothing like demons and monsters. It'smore… hard to go into much more detail without ruining anything, so I'll leave it at that.The music used in this series fits perfectly, and is one of my favourite soundtracks to date. The infamous Yoko Kanna does an excellent job at fitting scenes with music and really helps to open your eyes to everything that goes in in this anime.Lasting thirteen episodes, each approximatly 20 mintues, the whole thing is packed with lesson after lesson of pullution and carelessness. The voices for the english dub do the series justice and any mouth flaps are hardly noticeable. Most certainly one of the better english dubs.All in all, this is an excellent watch, especially for those who are very "down to earth" or cynical, but almost everyone who is open-minded or knows a little about the situation of this earth would enjoy it.
