Description

To be honest I didn't know what to expect from this EP, Jorgan leaves to concentrate on The Project Hate, Uffe leaves to join Disfear, Peter leaves to do something else.

1. when in sodom - evil spoken word intro, slow heavy riff, then LG's vocals kick in more brutal than ever. The tempos pick up and female backing vocals with an echo effect make it sound eerie and heavy. Great start to the new EP.

2. carnage - starts with a mid tempo riff similar to one from somewhat peculiar. The tempo picks up and a great vocal with a growled chorus, reminds me of Bonehouse from the hollowman EP.

3. thoumore… shalt kill - slower and atmospheric, the vocals carry this song more than the others, ringing chords reminds me of In the flesh, then it builds nicely into a more groove orientated riff.

4. heresy - starts with a slow and heavy riff, before building into double bass kicks. The female backing vocals start to get a little annoying here though.

5. amen - nice bass intro, low spoken word vocal with distortion. Bit of a disapointing end to an otherwise really good EP.

Production is much better than Inferno, the songs are heavier and more riff orientated. The vocals are more brutal than on any previous release. Hopefully the new album will at least equal Morning Star in terms of heaviness and quality of material.
