Description

With 'See Mystery Lights' Jona Bechtolt has produced a strange little
confection more than worthy of small slice of our time and consideration.

Together with vocal collaborator Claire L. Evans there is more than enough
quirky and interesting stuff in this project to keep us interested and entertained.

Intelligent, arty electronica with a fairly distinctive voice and style.
Music to listen to, to think about and perhaps even to dance (waywardly) to.

A little bit primal/incantational ('It's Boring/You Can Live Anywhere You Want') here;
a little bit dogs-are-barking-funky ('I'm In Love With Amore… Ripper') there.

Ms Evans deadpan delivery occasionally brings Sandra Bernhard to mind,
particularly in 'Psychic City' and 'The Afterlife' but this is not a bad thing.

'Summer Song' nods towards both CSS and LCD Soundsystem but manages
to retain something distinctive and infectious all its own.

'We Have All We've Ever Wanted' and 'Don't Fight The Darkness' are both
packed with slippery and entertaining rhythmic ideas.
The crisp cut-and-paste minimalism of the latter is especially seductive.

Too far to the left of the middle of the road to garner mainstream attention
but don't let that deter you. It's a lot of fun and that can't be a bad thing can it?
