Chris Smither - Time Stands Still (2009) Retail CD
Description
I really liked Chris's last two studio CDs 'Leave the light on' and 'Train home' which were both a good blend of songs from Chris and songs and contributions from others. However, for me this record isn't anywhere near as good as either of those albums, it seems too introspective and a bit one-dimensional. I do like the version of Frank Hutchison's "Miner's blues" and also the slide guitar on "Don't call me stranger" and the African-flavoured lead guitar on "I don't know". Mark Knopfler's "Madame Geneva's" is sort of OK but there isn't one song that really jumps out at you. Following great versionsmore…
