I'm somewhat out of touch with current French popular music, living in Nottingham, but got into French Gangsta a couple of years ago. Diam's big up by Sinik tempted me to buy her album, and it blew me away right from the start! It really is an awesome set of songs dealing with life and hopes in the french ghettos, which the mainstream french establishment and population has ignored. The politics are cutting, especially against Sarkozy and his admirers. The music itself is top notch 'Dre' school, not surprising as Diam's was influenced by NTM... and combined with Diam's voice trully mesmerisingmore…
