A brilliant album. The band weave heavy, upfront, funky guitar lines, crystalline rhythmns and honest lyrics to form a tapestry made of steel wool and honey. A lot of fans were probably disappointed by the stripped-down bluesier mix of this album, but there were some (and to be honest, they are the lucky ones) who understood that Extreme were less about big band funk and more about the message.We're talking 'bout love, superficiality, spirituality, politics, humanity and the tendency for man to find new ways round every corner to screw the pooch for themselves and those around them.
