Description
Al Hibbler was never the greatest of jazz singers, but with Roland Kirk's sumptuous and intelligent backing this CD makes for good listening. I don't, however, agree with the inclusion of Leon Thomas just to fill out some more time. He and Al Hibbler were of different generations. Even if jazz critics think Leon Thomas the better singer, which I can not disagree with, I find myself listening to Al Hibbler far more often than Leon Thomas - and I like Archie Shepp! The point I'm trying to make is that with music it is what you listen to most that counts, not what those who think they're in the knowmore…
