When you listen to this album you will wonder how you ever got by without it....i know i do! It's one of those albums that you can go back to again and again and you will never get tired of it. If you've never liked r&b music before(like i'd believe you anyway!) then this is definately an album that will convert you. Songs such as "if anybody gets funked..." and "mathematics" will work you up into a frenzy of manic dancing and shakin' your booty to the point of exhaustion(so to speak). But yet tracks such as "TAPOAFOM", "new spaceship" and "underground angel" just need you to shut your eyesmore… and their soulful black harmonies are enough to make you feel as though you're flying on the mothership with clintons funk mob. The arrangement of the album is excellent(and possibly schizophrenic), as it swings from lively, to calm, to upbeat, to calm and ends with a final bout of 'umph' with the return of a mutant "if anybody gets.."...(my thoughts were that it may have been intended this way, as not to get a nation of funkateers who'd died, overexerting themselves from dancing too much). TAPOAFOM is an album where i have a selection of favourite songs...'mathematics', 'Hard as steel'and the title track.......but i don't dislike any of the tracks....it would be impossible to..... A definate must have....and my advice is that if you don't buy the album for the music, then buy it for Pedro Bells stunning artwork!
