This CD comes with the highest recommendations from maestro McLaughlin, who has written the very appreciative linernotes himself.
At first it might sound like a rather strange project to play Mahavishnu Orchestra's highcharged electrical fusion in the setting of a string quartet. But actually, although perhaps overshadowed by the obviuos influences from jazz, rock and indian music, the classical also was part of John's palette. And of course they actually used a string quartet on "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" and a whole symphony orchestra on "Acopalypse".
There is a something magic in themore…
