With Katy's great vocals over a pounding, rocky backing track it's testament to hitmakers Cathy Denis and Max Martin's songwriting skills to come up with this track, a pop classic to rank up there with any of their previous successes. With obvious tinges of Kelly Clarkson, it is refreshing to have some pure pop lovliness coming out of America too as well as all the standard R&B stuffmore… - I Kissed A Girl is a well-deserved smash hit.

You also get a great b-side in the form of the ace Jason Nevins remix. Going along the lines of his standard Rock/Dance hybrid sound, this centres around a punky guitar line, slowly building and fading in a driving synth bassline - by the time the chorus kicks in its awesome. Great version.
