BW recorded this at the beginning of the Blues revival that saw people like Skip James and Son House re-introduced to the public. Bukka hadn't recorded since the classic tracks laid down in 1937 and 1940 and subsequently released on album as Parchman Farm Blues ( The 1940 tracks anyway ) Since the late forties other Bluesman had been achieving a kind of fame he must have envied. Three names came to prominence. John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters where two of them. In my opinion, and the evidence does suggets that BW thought the same, the best of them was Lightnin Hopkins.
