A pianist who revolutionised how his instrument played, Bud Powell recorded at least a dozen albums that can be rightfully be called classics. Probably The Amazing Bud Powell, Volumes 1 and 2 are the essential ones to own. Although this 1962 session, which was recorded in Copenhagen with two--very-- young musicians (Niels Pederson on bass and William Shiopffe on drums) Powell isn't too far behind them.
